Syed provided a thorough and critical review of my work, with detailed written feedback highlighting areas that needed improvement and offering clear, practical suggestions. His support went far beyond correcting language or proofreading; he carefully considered the academic content and arguments. He also shared useful books and several relevant journal articles that helped me develop and strengthen my work further.
What stood out to me most was Syed’s traditional approach to academic feedback. He is very much an “old-school” tutor in the best possible way. He reads the work carefully himself, applies his own knowledge and experience, and gives individual feedback rather than relying on AI-generated comments. His advice felt genuine, thoughtful and specific to my work. I would definitely recommend Syed to anyone who values constructive, academically focused and personalised support.

Syed critically reviewed my work and provided detailed written feedback, clearly identifying mistakes and giving concrete suggestions for improvement. He went beyond simple proofreading and engaged seriously with the academic content. He also provided links to relevant books and several journal articles that helped me strengthen my work.
What I particularly appreciated is that Syed is very much "a man of the old school" in the best sense. He does not rely on AI to generate feedback; he reads the work himself, thinks critically about it and provides genuine, individual comments based on his own knowledge and expertise. His feedback was thoughtful, practical and academically focused. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for genuine and constructive academic support.

I had a very enriching learning experience with Syed, where we worked through advanced doctorate-level contents. The sessions were extremely well-structured and intuitive, making complex concepts much easier to understand. I particularly appreciated the clarity of explanations, the structured progression of topics, and the strong connection between theory and application. Additionally, we covered practical aspects such as hypothesis testing, interpretation of regression output, and how violations of OLS assumptions (like multicollinearity, autocorrelation, and heteroskedasticity) affect empirical results . To sum up, the sessions were highly engaging, mathematically rigorous, and very relevant for anyone working at an advanced level. I would highly recommend these sessions to anyone looking to strengthen their understanding of quantitative methods at a doctoral level.

To start with ,
Syed has been very helpful in helping me understanding and applying my module of econometrics. We had a series of discussions on topics, such as assumptions of OLS, the Gauss-Markov theorem, dummy variables in regression, checking models for goodness of fit, instrumental variables, two stage least squares etc. In conclusion i feel he is a very good teacher and would definitely recommend for anyone new or already doing econometrics.

A thoroughly engaging and valuable session. It involved discussing the research project on emerging economies and growth, as well as the variables used for data collection and regression to assess their impact on economic growth and development. Syed was attentive, meticulous with strong attention to detail and scaffolded the concepts within econometrics to suit my level (no previous experience in data analysis . He also provided knowledgeable insight into my variables to ensure I find the results required for my dissertation topic

I got a financial econometrics research project and needed help from Mr. Syed. This was not just a great learning experience, I also learnt a lot about complex methods of econometrics and finance such as Fama French models, ARIMA, ARFIMA and the ARCH/ GARCH models.
Mr. Syed is an excellent teacher who explained the points in due details with their interpretation and analysis, which helps me understand easily. Also, he was very kind and helpful to answer my questions.

I had a series of discussions with Syed on a research project that involved a critical review of journal articles, the framing of the research methodology, and analysis using the JASP package. His knowledge is excellent, and he knows how to get the correct information for the questions you have.
Once we completed the project, Syed also provided written feedback, identifying mistakes and offering concrete suggestions for improvement. It has been a great learning experience.

Syed takes the time not only to make sure he is covering content that is relevant to you but also the context that helps you understand at a deeper level.

We have discussed a research project I am doing: conducted data exploration involving a time series specification. Syed was well-versed in econometrics, data analysis, and Stata and takes with you the econometric modeling stage in a step-by-step approach. This simplifies the understanding for students who feel models and data are challenging.
While analyzing models, he incorporates and interprets economic theory throughout the discussion.

Incredibly well structured and well organized lessons.
Every topic, no matter the degree of difficulty, has been broken down into pieces that are easy to follow, understand, and learn.
I can recall all the material after the lesson perfectly. Overall, a really good experience, and I would definitely recommend Syed to anybody that is struggling with any topic in quantitative methods and regression.
